Prior to starting Intellisophic, the founders developed two world class software products:

1. an enterprise strength data quality and Extract Transform and Load (ETL) software solution ( now IBM’s QualityStage®), and

2. a document management system used in large industrial scale publishing ( now LIQUENT InSight®.)

Our experience at developing enterprise software ETL provided a foundation for a new technology that extracts knowledge data from large text data stores. We also knew that tools built for structured data warehouse solutions lacked features needed to manage unstructured data. The principal missing part were the taxonomies and ontologies needed to replace human understanding and curation.

Inventors of OCI

Our founders knew that manual methods for knowledge graph creation are cost prohibitive. We knew how to move and render massive amounts of text data. Based on that knowledge our technology team created the taxonomy and ontology tools necessary to map all human knowledge.

With this background, founders Dr. Henry Kon and George Burch were granted a method patent for automatically creating the taxonomies and ontologies needed to power the semantic web. The patent US 7958153 is one of the most referenced semantic AI patents with over 50 citations by Google, Apple, Microsoft and others.
